I'd always use the whole walking on water bit to get their attention and impress them a bit. After I got done doing that I'd turn the water into wine to get them drunk so I could have my way with them.

On the left hand side click on "Achondrites" and then scroll down to Nakhla and click on it. Actually, any of the meteorites listed under the "Shergottite," "Nakhlite," or "Chassignite" there will be information about Martian rocks. This is probably the best informational meteorite site out there. If you have any questions you might not want to bother writing the guy because he tends to be a bit of a jerk, IMO. What's cool about this site though is that all meteorites shown are from his private collection. Yes, you can actually own pieces of meteorites, even Martian ones. Some are more expensive than others but you can still purchase them if you feel the desire. -

Actually, evidence of water has been found in Martian meteorites. Granted, its not actual liquid water droplets such as what has been found in various ordinary meteorites but alteration that can only be caused by water acting on those rocks. Also, from what I've heard and seen is that everyone should be watching the news for stories about a new Mars rock that was recently found in Africa.
Also, Mars really isn't that unfriendly of a place. Granted, you definitely would not want to go on vacaction there but bacteria has been found in less hospitable places here on earth. Not only that but Mars hasn't always been as inhospitable of a place as it is now. Some of the data coming in from Nasa's studies of Mars suggest that at one point in time there may have actually been seas of liquid water on Mars. Not only that but earth was a very inhospitable place for quite a long time in its early history. Mars, however, became a nice place to live long before earth did. Not only that but since Mars is closer to the asteroid belt it would get more impactors from that asteroid belt. Why is that important? Amino acids have been found in various meteorites, carbonaceous chondrites to be exact. There are a relatively small number of them on earth despite the fact that carbonaceous asteroids are by far more plentiful in space. The reason for that is that they are very friable and don't survive their passage through the atmosphere nearly as well as other types of meteorites.
So what am I getting at?
There was more material in the asteroid belt in the earlier part of our solar system's history. More material containing the amino acids that are needed to form life. Mars was a more hospitable place than earth was back then plus it also had a thinner atmosphere which means that the friable carbonaceous chondrites would have a better chance of surviving their trip to the surface.
Basically, Mars starts off as a more hospitable planet in addition to the fact that it got hit with more material that could help form life so the question really isn't about the chance of life on Mars, it should be how is that life bloomed more readily on earth instead Mars? -

just because in our lifetime or the last 5000yrs a comet etc hasnt struck the earth and harmed half the population doesnt prove jehovah protects the earth .
That's only part true. Even though no people were killed an extremely large meteorite (some people will argue comet but due to dust from the impactor trapped in tree sap that idea has pretty much been thrown out the window) we have been hit within the past 100 years. In the early 1900's there was a hit in the Tunguska region of Russia that had it hit a populated region pretty much everyone there would have died instantly. There are even reports of people who were close to 100 miles away being knocked off their feet and unconscience from the shockwave from that blast.
As for the fossils in Martian meteorites, that debate is still alive and VERY active. While it is true that just about all the elements that researchers stated as proof of life can be formed by inorganic processes it seems to be a bit more than odd that all of these elements could be in one rock just by chance. Not only that but, even though I can't recall the particulars off the top of my head, more, BETTER, signs have since been found in better preserved meteorites (namely Nakhla) since the announcement concerning ALH84001.

They have said that its not there. They had an article in the Afake talking about the Mars meteorite ALH84001 in which they poopoo'd the whole arguement for life on Mars because hey, if the signs for life in one rock are debatable then that means there isn't any life else where on the entire planet. They failed to mention the other Martian meteorites (Shergotty and Nakhla. Nakhla which has been preserved extremely well since it fell in the early 1900's in Egypt and has much more evidence than any other meteorite out there) where more likely signs of life have been found and didn't even attempt to tackle that issue. Go after the more visible target that has weaker evidence but ignore the less well known target that has more strength to it.

As for dad's name, he hates it when people call him Jehovah. His name in the bible is Yahweh (or however you spell it). Think about it, would you really be very happy with someone who constantly called you the wrong name? People wonder why the JW's have so much trouble. Its because nobody knows who Jehovah is because it sure isn't dad.

Here's a crazy idea. Don't worry about what you're going to be doing after you die. Nobody can know for sure nor can they really do anything about it so why not just enjoy what you have now? If you believe in dad (in any way, shape, or form) why not just trust in him/her to do what's best for you?
